Correction, Phoebe is named after a Titan associated with prophecy. The name is less mysterious than Phoebe's origin as an object captured by by Saturn from the Kuiper belt.
I really like the show and don't have any issues with the pace of the story telling. I think it's good for the audience to bond with the characters. The character and place names are some interesting choices:
Zip lines! Holy shit!
Yep, I have to agree, Tveit was miscast as Danny. I couldn't help but imagine who else they could have gotten to do the role. Maybe here's where they could have an injected a newcomer, or maybe the stakes in live TV are too high.
Fun episode. Love the how the old boys club gets some vitatily from the young women invading the premises. Just last last night the same thing happend at my Kiwanis club meeting when a striking 20 something female Edward Jones rep came to visit, the mainly old codger club members seemed to feel a spark of life from…
On second thought, the furor from the Mormon establishment if my prediction was true would probably be too much, so maybe they are trying to get to an exoplanet.
Even though I predicted that Miller would arrive in a Nick of time to save Holden, it was still a surprise when the balance shifted against the earth tac team. What's up with the Nauvoo and the Angel ornament? I predict that the real objective is for the Mormons to temporarily leave the solar system as the…
Yet Tilde Swindon was cast as the ancient one. Heads are exploding in the Asian American world. Bernard looks like he's going to have to go on a no carb training regiment.
I was alternating this show with Ash vs the Evil Dead and for a while it seemed like Ash's sidekick and Holden were the same actor until I consulted IMDB. It was pretty surreal for Pablo to sudden show up getting promoted to XO, and then there was the business with the guy's head getting blown out into space which…
Well it can't be a space battle every week and the characters need to doing other stuff besides bracing for impact. I thought the 24 character code was hilarious. Who the fuck can remember a 24 character password (unless you're on the drugs Lopez was on)? So they have to drill through reinforced titanium(more…
Well, that's why I said generally. I have to say the events of the past few years in the US have sure opened my eyes to ingrained institutional racism here. I doubt that there was a similar situation in the '40s in Europe, but I wouldn't be surprised if that is happening now with the guest workers who it seems will…
I think there generally is less racism against blacks in Europe at least historically. If I remember from an Afro-american studies class I took in college, Afro-americans liked Europe because they were always treated like men. American racism was synthesized to create a justification for slavery.
Yeah but he has a fun side as the friendly dentist neighbor with a trophy wife in Fresh Off The Boat.
The close captioning had her accent described as Hungarian. But if that were the case, wouldn't it be more like Zsa Zsa Gabor's?
Thanks. That was a 20+ year old movie, so my memory is incomplete and oddly enough Smith seems to have aged better than Peter Weller.
Sure, there's nothing like recycling cool concepts in these Marvel shows. On MAOS, they basically had a Stargate story arc, complete with a parasitic alien like the Goa'ld.
I was thinking that during the chase in episode one, if it would be more realistic if Dr. Wilkes was going to be "accidentally" shot by the police.
That's right! But like they love to remind us, if you cut off one head, two heads take its place. This group looks like one of those heads, or the group that messes with the portal.
Yeah, there's plenty of that funky lesbian innuendo in this episode. Don't forget Peggy and Dottie during the fight and with the handcuffs during the interrogation.
