Epic can still get fucked. You can not unlock characters through loot boxes. Loot boxes are purely cosmetic. You can only unlock characters with Legend tokens which you earn by playing or Apex coins which you buy.

True. Problem was that the game evolved over the time; there was a noticeable shift from “Pay for just cosmetics” to “Pay to get a lottery ticket that MIGHT give you a scroll buff”. I still love MapleStory, but it’s become pay to keep up with the power creep.
