But Parker himself didn’t say stop so, by his own logic, not only should the journalist kept going, he should have invited two other journalists into the room to keep asking the same question.

I hate that this movie is being framed as a movement, when it's just a fucking product.
It’s not that odd to settle a suit with someone you know is broke as fuck for less than you might theoretically be entitled to.
The only folks who might deserve better than this are Univision. But I suspect they knew what they were getting. GM only ever made ANY sense to me as a performance art piece that overstayed its welcome. I always thought the use of the word ‘journalism’ on the site was part of the gag.
Where are the Pulitzers one would expect from a ‘strong media organization’ with a ‘journalistic record’?
gawker a strong media organization? lmao
Mainly because Jezebel has a really, really bad habit of calling people who have not been convicted, charged or even arrested “rapists.”
Not to mention, Deadspin posted one and when faced with legal issue over it, removed it and had one of the site’s artists draw it and put that up in its place. http://deadspin.com/justin-verland…
Well, I mean, unions exist in part to provide workers with representation and funding to stand up to management in cases where they feel their rights or the CBA ave been violated. Whether or not they were is discussed and decided on a case by case basis.
Ask the players who crossed the NFL picket lines in ‘87, or the MLB picket lines in ‘94, how easy it was to continue their careers once those strikes were resolved.
Yup, that’s how writing for an actual corporation works.
Because it’s a cesspool of crap and is likely the next thing to get Univision sued.
tl;dr
This, this, a thousand times this. Releasing the nude pics of those celebrities was a called a major sex crime and was repeatedly written across Gawker sites that simply viewing them made you guilty of a sex crime. However, direcly posting and hosting the nude pics of others somehow in that case makes you a champion…
No it won’t. Actually the best thing to happen to these sites is to get back to what they should be. Deadspin should be about sports. Gizmodo should be about tech and so on.
Funny how nobody ever mentions Hulk Hogan’s sexual partner.
I love how the narrative has been limited to gawker being a victim. How many poor people were shit on by gawker’s reporting before a rich guy best the figurative crap our of them? You shifted to clickbaity TMZ trash, trolled like no other, and now cry like little victims when the comeuppance comes. Wouldn’t it be nice…
Someone might see them now. One of the gawkers seem to have placed the articles in question onto the main page again. I guess Univision should have just canned them even if they produce the hottest of takes and clickiest of baits.
Christ.
I love how the internet encourages everyone to jump to dumb hyperbole. The world is not collapsing because Univision decided to (incredibly slowly) delete old articles nobody was actively reading anymore anyway well after they have been archived.
