i’m not seeing a lot of outrage at all. i’m seeing a lot of “so lame.” that’s contempt, not outrage. outrage would be “hunt him down and lock him up, force him to apologise publically, etc” he embarrassed himself, that’s not cause for outrage. it’s cause for “what a loser.”

At the strike rally in NYC (the late afternoon one, not the one associated with the Women’s March) I heard speeches about how NYU wasn’t doing enough to stand up for rights, sex worker’s rights, a matriarchal native american tribe and how wonderful Palestine is.

I think one of the great injustices done to MLK in history is how we’ve been able to reduce him to a totally nonthreatening figure who just said very nice quotes (same thing’s happened to Gandhi).

Thank you for this — so very true. The problem with some — not ALL — of the protests at the moment is that they are so wide in scope it isn’t clear what they are hoping to accomplish.
