The only foul ball I ever caught hit me in the leg while I was standing in the beer line at a stadium where you can’t see the field from the concourse. I was so surprised that I did examine it for a second before I found a kid to hand it to.

Only exception being if it’s a HR ball, IMO. Even then, I’m probably still giving it to a kid unless it’s historic in some sense (e.g. if it’s Bautista’s 20th HR, I would take a pic with it and then give it to a kid because it’s not like I’m gonna put it in a trophy case and go look at it every day).

I was at a minor league game the other day because a friend’s company let us have their box, and a foul ball came into our seats. We gave it to the kid with his dad sitting below/in front of the box seats, because we aren’t psychotic man children.

Somerville here! We had two sets of old neighbors move, and younger couples with kids take their place. We are all pretty friendly and hang out in each others’ backyards when the kids are out playing, offering each other beers when grilling out, etc. It’s nice! It’s not overbearing and all of us have our “own”…
