I guess I must be one of very few that thought that Bicentennial Man wasn’t a half bad film. I loved seeing Robin Williams slow evolution from robotic to human. The ending of the movie still remains very touching to me. I personally would have a hard time coming up with a way they could have improved upon it.

I agree that the movie was rubbish. While it may have had a few Brits in the cast, the overall feel of the movie was far too Americanized. It went way too broad with the comedy, when Douglas Adams had a much more subtle, more wry sense of humor.

Nest was a media darling for a while. The press glowed about them, saying “this is the iPod of the thermostat world,” “this is what a thermostat would be like if Apple designed it,” and such, all because of Tony Fadell and his experience running the iPod division of Apple.

Good to know. I have a *very* low mileage 2006 GT, and I’m about to try and sell it. I saw the values that NADA and KBB had for it, and was planning on trying to sell it somewhere near that amount. Hearing your experience is disappointing, but at least it sets my expectations appropriately low.

I know you’re deliberately being provocative, but there are plenty of good sequels.

To clarify (?), the 2018 “Jungle Book” is a direct adaption of the Rudyard Kipling book. The 2016 “The Jungle Book” is a live-action remake of the Disney animated film (which was an adaption of the Rudyard Kipling books).

There were two reasons the US series improved when they ditched the studio. The first was that all three US hosts weren’t really great on camera... but more than that, they were HORRIBLE interviewers. The only one that was barely tolerable at interviewing was Rutledge, and even he wasn’t great.

I’m honestly not sure what you’re referring to with your third one. Joss handed off control of the series to Marti Noxon later on, and the show pretty much fell apart under her control. It was only the episodes where Joss stopped back in to be more hands-on that showed promise.

Wargames made Cheyenne Mountain famous far before Stargate or any of it’s descendants were ever conceived of.

If you’re including season 5, then I disagree. It was only season 7 (and to a significantly smaller degree 6) that fell apart, and only because Joss took his eye off the ball and passed off responsibility for the show to Marti Noxon.

Willow wasn’t recast “for no reason.” Riff Regan (the original Willow actress from the pilot) portrayed Willow as a very maudlin character. She didn’t do a particularly good job at portraying Willow’s ability to “put on a happy face” in spite of disappointment, something that Hannigan does exceedingly well.

Call me old if you will, but I really like actual, physical buttons and dials for as much stuff as possible in a car. Touch screens just don’t provide a tactile response that a button or dial does. Without even looking, you can reach over and find a button or dial, but you almost always have to look over to figure out

I’d gladly ride public transit if not for this.

Leaving a loop (as I do as well) helps to delay, but not completely eliminate, the chances of the cord breaking at the strain relief.

That doesn’t do anything the extra power cord that comes with the adapter doesn’t already address (in a slightly different way).

I agree. Carrabba’s was ranked way too low, and Buca di Beppo was bizarrely high. Buca has insane amounts of barely adequate pasta, while Carrabba’s stuff actually is quite good. (I really dig their Tag Pic Pac.)

Sonic is fast food. It wouldn’t appear on this list any more than McDonald’s or Burger King would be on it.

I don’t buy “Derek’s” story. I get the sense he just wants his own 15 minutes of fame. The “are you sure” bit in particular doesn’t pass the smell test. At that point, there was no reason to suspect it was an Uber driver, as that information hadn’t spread yet. Even if one (for some reason) decided to joke about a mass

They probably could, but it would set a legal precedent that would mean that Apple would be obligated to help with any future instances.

I live near Milwaukee, and can see the usefulness of the streetcar. In Milwaukee, important things are kind of scattered throughout the city, things like the Intermodal Station (Amtrak/Greyhound/etc.), the Art Museum/War Memorial, the Maier Festival Grounds, the current and new arenas, and so on. The city overall
