Grill and headlamp assembly looks almost identical to that used on the 1984 Plymouth Voyager.

The “Big Blue” collapse during the construction of Miller Park in Milwaukee, WI in 1999 was worse. Three iron workers were killed, and it set back the construction of the ballpark almost a year.

I’d add Joss Whedon’s Wonder Woman. The only saving grace from that falling apart is that he became available for The Avengers. Still, it’d be interesting to see a Whedon take on a strong female superhero like Wonder Woman.

They aren’t outright denying it. That’d be illegal. They just make it just hard enough (or expensive enough) that many people end up just going with the overpriced and sometimes awful MSO provided receivers.

So, SO close! If only that leg had latched properly, they’d have nailed it yet again. Here’s the video of the landing:

Correct, this launch was a v1.1, and I don’t think it had the upgraded legs. I was just pointing out that perhaps future launches that used Falcon 9 FT might be more successful at landing on the barge.

The one that looks like the high school computer lab is SpaceX’s mission control in Hawthorne, CA. I don’t know anything about the other two, but I’d guess that the “built in console” one is NASA launch control at Vandenberg. I don’t know who/what the “executive” control room would be (Air Force, perhaps?)

I understand that Falcon 9 FT has stronger legs (along with additional thrust, which could potentially help the hard landings).

Does that headline make absolutely no sense, or is it just me?

You could also use MOCA (ethernet over coax) - even if you don’t have cable.

There are two big issues with getting around Milwaukee that I can see. One is that they don’t have a complete “ring road” bypass around the city. I-894 is a good bypass from the west to the south - but there isn’t a matching equivalent going north. Your best alternative is to take the newly renamed I-45, then a side

Yes, Top Gear made Clarkson... but then Clarkson remade Top Gear. The Top Gear that most people today are most familiar with is the one that Clarkson (and Wilman) crafted out of the rubble of the canceled old show, and imbued with their voices.

As Mythbusters say, “Failure is always an option.” You sometimes learn more from unsuccessful attempts as you do from successful ones. SpaceX attempted something previously never successfully tried, returning a booster to a safe landing. It didn’t work that time, but it gave them valuable data to go forward with

The Joel to Mike transition was a non-event, IMO. Mike was already serving as head writer for the show, so some of Joel’s jokes were actually Mike’s to begin with.

I had a Cirrus, so I know your pain.

I had a Dodge Spirit in blue that did the same thing. I just took to calling it Blue Dalmatian, because it had grey primer “spots” all over.

I’m not sure if my sarcasm detector is broken, or if the first part of the first sentence (“Adele’s remake of Lionel Richie’s classic ballad...”) was intended seriously. If it was serious... oy. Just because it has the same name doesn’t mean it’s the same song. (It’s not, by the way.)

The Milwaukee Mile (West Allis, WI) isn’t a ghost track yet... but it’s rapidly on the way there. Several years of poor to abysmal attendance have doomed the IndyCar event held there, and that was even with the name recognition of Andretti attached to it. NASCAR hasn’t been at the Mile since ‘09. The way things stand

The issue is that following the update, the iPhone restarts to the setup assistant, and you need to click through that before normal operation resumes. The alarms are still there and still work once you’ve completed the setup assistant, but won’t fire until then.

When the iPod was introduced, the MP3 revolution was in full swing. I remember being in college and *everyone* had massive MP3 collections and were trading them like mad. At the same time, the only really successful ways to take your MP3 collection with you were the MP3 CD players and the Nomad, both of which sucked.
