@Sevius: Yeah, what is sad is a lot of people buy new and think this won't effect them.

@Sevius: EA started this trend. They also will charge $10 for online play in all upcoming sports titles. I promise I will not buy a single new title with this feature. At best I will buy it used and never go online with it. If it is a game that suffers without online play I will just skip it and support the companies

I thought her 'acting' couldn't get any more ridged and unbelievable than in those stupid go-daddy commercials. I was wrong...oh so wrong.

Onslaught. You and four friends face wave after wave of daunting lalalaLAG

Did they mention any plans to fix the laggy BC2 servers that has made the game unplayable for the past three weeks?

My wife and many of her friends are pretty core gamers. Unlike the industry assumptions, FPS are actually their favorite genre - not casual games. Aside from steering clear of their typecast 'casual' roll they also don't give much interest to sports games.

I hope all goes well with the game and studio. I hate to see a studio take risks and do great things only to struggle to keep afloat in a sea of big budget mediocrity.

Bungie who left MS because they felt they were loosing some creative control is now with the publisher known for stepping all over creative control. I can see only one reason for this - $$$whores are everywhere.

Like a bad Army commercial from the future.

Options are always good. My worry is the defensive playcalling AI is really going to be bad at making gut instinct calls or it is going to get a little peek behind the curtian at the offensive play call. Overall it sounds like EA would have to invest more time in the playcalling logic which in turn is going to benifit

There are so many brands being whored now days it would be impossible to list them. A better questing would have been what new and inventive games deserve a sequel.

@Neural_Net: Most of all it is a gimmick to try and sell more high end TVs and $100+ glasses. Considering Sony is a big proponent of this hardware there is no wonder it will use the PS3 to try and get people to adopt this tech.

Options are good for gamers. I would much rather have the option to play at the difficulty that suits me than have a game dumbed down for the casual market and a finger to anyone with an ounce of skill.

Someone at Apple is a control freak? No, really?

For all of those who where never Splinter Cell fans but love this new "direction" - I hope that whatever game it is you cherish is turned into a soccer mom's alternative to Farmville.

@dowingba: There is a difference between having the money to buy something and being able to afford it. Conan got a 32M settlement from NBC and a 5 year deal with TBS that is probably in the same neighborhood. Even if MS got him at a steal for 2M / yr they would gain almost nothing from putting Conan on Live. Think

MS can't afford Conan - not for Live.

Are they including a preview of Ghost with Splinter Cell so people can see just how similary generic all games with the Tom Clancy in the title have become?

@Covertghost: The point system is not the point. The point is you don't get a bunch of leftovers with the new tiers. I imagine this is going to hurt theme and Avatard clothing sales. Oh, and the fact that they use points at 1.25 ratio does indeed equate to people seeing it as 'less' than what they are actually
