3000lbs is laughably low, as all but the tiniest vehicles breach that weight. Even if you stripped a car of all it’s creature comforts, you cannot get rid of government mandated equipment.
GM has been slow to incentivize the Silverado. It’s a hard to sell a $500 lease payment to someone coming off a 16 or 17 at $280, especially when they can go to the Chrysler dealer and get a Ram for $250 a month.

Overpriced compared to what? The only vehicle that comes close in price and capability to a Tahoe (outside of it’s GMC and Cadillac siblings) is the Expedition and is still outsold almost 2-1 by Chevy. I’d say GM has got it figured out.
