Literally, let’s put a end cap on this fucking year. Someone please blow this fucking useless rock into the sun.
“I’m also taking this action for the benefit of all parents and families, who may be facing the same violation of their rights—”
“It is not enough for you to be out of my house. I insist you also be miserable.”
I KNOW THAT’S NOT A SAYING BUT I AM SO FUCKING MAD.
Defiance was pretty good.
Let’s hope the daughter countersues this — person — for harassment and emotional distress.
“I want to destroy you for your own good. Why can’t you see that, you ungrateful little shit that I effectively disowned.”
Yas! I don’t want to diminish the importance of the righteous gentiles who saved Jews at great personal risk to themselves and their families, but where is the star-studded movie about the Warsaw Ghetto uprising?!
This looks good but im pretty tired of all of these movies about the brave Christians who helped hide the Jews. I’d like a few more movies about the Jewish resistance and the Jews who hid out in forests and escaped to freedom, thanks.
Heck, weddings are super stressful because weddings. I had one of the world’s easiest ones and I was still a ball of nerves because I’m an anxious introvert and husband was groomzilla worrying about not having enough food/booze/jordan almonds for everyone.
I have read Jezebel for years and I know the commenting system is weird , which is why I have never commented on anything, BUT I have to share my Jessica Chastain story! I was an extra in the movie “The Help” (I know, I know.....problematic movie), but I met Jessica Chastain and she is as lovely as she seems. She is…
PREACH. If there had been this many non-Jewish Europeans helping so many Jews there wouldn’t have BEEN a Holocaust.
Oh look, another movie about how nice everyone was to the Jews and how the Holocaust redeems the lives of non-Jews. If you believe pop culture it’s a wonder the Nazis manage to exterminate anyone what with all the Gentiles shoving each other out of the way to help out.
I heard that Ralph Fiennes looked so much like the Nazi when he was in Schindlers List that the Holocaust survivors on set would begin shaking uncontrollably when he was in full costume.
Poor Daniel Bruhl.
Directed by Niki Caro who also made Whale Rider and North Country and directed Keisha Castle-Hughes, Charlize Theron, and Frances McDormand to Oscar nominations.
And Daniel Bruhl is really good at playing Nazis!
I’m crying at the trailer. This movie will kill me, I wonder if I can pre-order the dvd?
Unrelated to the movie, but I feel the need to say I’m getting sick of the trend of naming books after the female protagonist’s relationship to the men in her life. The Shoemaker’s Wife. The Calligrapher’s Daughter. The Zookeeper’s wife. The Baker’s Daughter. Etc etc.
