I think Blackhair Magazine is guilty of a bit more than just being lazy or mistaken. They’re not that sorry... If they were, they would have changed their Twitter avatar by now.

That’s... what I’m saying.

We can acknowledge passing privilege without erasing biracial people.

She considers herself biracial but also acknowledges the fact that being able to pass for white confers one some amount of privilege both in the modeling world and in everyday life.

I love her freckles. They’re great. It sucks that the photographer and creative directors put her in a situation to feel embarrassed about something she did as a child. As professionals in creative positions they should have known better.

Yeah, when I saw her other pics I thought, “She’s either English or Welsh.”

Well if anything, at least we can agree she’s gorgeous.

I don’t see why she had to apologize to begin with.

“I would deeply and sincerely like to apologise to every one for this, and black women especially,”

Does the model identify as white? She’s half-Malaysian, and she said she’s “white passing.”

She’s actually half white, half Malaysian. Also, some casual googling found her discussing intersectional feminism, abortion rights, and the need for ethnic diversity in fashion. She’s only 19 and she’s using her fame as a platform to discuss really important issues. I sort of love her.

Some other pics of Bador

I don’t see why she had to apologize to begin with. That picture is old and was used without her knowledge. It wasn’t FOR the magazine. They just paid for the rights to it. It’s the magazine’s fault.

Yeah, I know.

It’s really not hard to do.

Wow, I managed to come out of this article not hating anyone. It’s a good day.

Here’s a photo of Benjamin Jealous, the former President of the NAACP. He’s black.

Admittedly, I am the whitest of white ladies, but I appreciate that the model made a sincere and thoughtful apology.

Sounds like everyone apologized and admitted it was a huge mistake. Does this deserve outrage?
