^This exactly. I live in Canada and my mother just recently got her eyes done. Shes on disability and if she had to pay for this she would have to forgo paying her rent or buying food for 6 months, basically paying out her entire monthly check each month so she could see.

She was probably using one of those online ordering services. They just need your prescription and your money, no Doctor consultation necessary.

Oh I went years without checking them too. But that’s mainly because I know that my eyesight doesn’t deteriorate that quickly. There’s no requirements or anything, I get reminders to check my eyes ever 6-12 months but it’s not required to get new contacts.

Nope, I haven’t gotten an updated script in almost 10 years, but still can order contacts no problem.

Once you know what contacts you need you can order them from other places without having to see your doctor again. It’s not hard.
