To be fair, I’d probably do the same thing as Chris if I were stupid rich. Except for all the people and publicity, because that would just make me anxious. I’d spend an embarrassing amount on chocolate, is what I’m saying.

I’ve taught in a bunch of faith schools, including Catholic, here in the U.K., and while there is lots of Jesus talk, I’ve never encountered anything like that creepy “college and heaven” stuff. Is that usual for US faith schools??
Yes, by all means, let’s think of the real victim of all this — Trump, by being made to ‘look bad.’
“To make the end result really, really good for them” is pretty much exactly what he said about Israel and two state vs one state. He knows nothing, has no opinions and doesn’t want to make any decisions. What a leader. /s
I’m not here to say anything nice about W as a person or as a president, but...complete sentences! Correct grammar! Three syllable words!
“He could find no mention of how women prior to 200 years ago dealt with their flow”?
Fox ‘News’ turned my lovely, liberal mother into a crazed conspiracy theorist in a few short years. They actually prey on vulnerable people and poison their minds. It’s terrible.
Yikes. That’s scary.
Seconded. I was raised by an amazing single mother. She left my father when I was a baby, and I found out recently why (he’s fine now but suffice it to say he was a very bad husband and father at that time). I think there is way too much of a stigma against single parents. I never felt deprived of two parents…
Hans was smart and charismatic. Cotton is more of an Ellis.
It makes me so sad to think that some of the things that I had growing up in the 90s will be out of reach for my own children. Mostly the belief that we would be able to stop utterly trashing our planet, but also things like PBS Kids. They deserve better.
It’s all about ego with these cops. He could have just let the kid go and taken it up later, but then he would ‘lose face.’
Not only was it risking the safety of the kids, but they must have been confused and scared. Especially since odds are some of them were also Muslim or brown.
Oh, Carson. He always has that “my luggage!” expression.
I have no opinion re: Finland vs Norway but I love this thread.
I feel like this dog really gets me. We’re kindred spirits.
There actually is quite a long history of Muslims and Jews supporting each other when things get really bad. This makes me happy, and I hope we can keep it up this time, because you know the bigots are going to try to divide us (and all minorities) and pit us against each other, just to keep us from being strong…
Ugh, the ‘meritocracy’ mentality happening to kids. I felt that way too, like there was something to be ashamed of when there wasn’t.
I had a couple of ponies growing up and we were super poor. But tbh that was in Montana, where horses just kind of happen to people.
I think it takes a long time to really understand and some people never do. We were very poor growing up but my mother hid it, like if we could only afford bread for dinner let’s make it a game, we’ll pretend it’s pizza.
