Keira Knightly helped me realize that there’s nothing wrong with being flat-chested. She was a big style icon for me as a teen, and I admired her for talking openly and with humor about the way they photoshopped her chest on the King Arthur posters.

Gotta break the ladies down right at the start of the film so 1/2 of the audience will understand they can have feelings and feel pain just like other humans!
A strange stance to take as her character in the Duchess, a historical film, is horrifically raped by her husband. I respect her for her stand against “titillating” rape portrayals in film, but she apparently forgot one of her own movies...
I’ve been obsessed with Keira since the first Pirates movie (when I realized that having thick eyebrows was actually a good look and I could stop messing with mine). This makes me love her more.
If you’ve seen a historical film in the past 10 years or so, then you have definitely seen a lot of Keira Knightley…
I really hope you’re joking, even in in poor taste, but unfortunately it’s the internet and there are people who actually think that’s a legit thought process and it’s very possible you’re not joking.
They are grody.
Planned obsolescence, or built-in obsolescence, in industrial design and economics is a policy of planning or designing a product with an artificially limited useful life, so it will become obsolete (that is, unfashionable or no longer functional) after a certain period of time. The rationale behind the strategy is to…
Cristobal Balenciaga (the founder) must be turning over in his grave. His designs were the essence of elegance and style.
Aye aye Cap’n. I’ll volunteer my cutlass to make those assholes walk the plank. No mercy, no surrender!
There’s nothing like seeing wealthy undergraduates to make one want to hoist the black flag and start cutting throats.
The point of socks is that you can wash them!!!! What is the point of wearing socks with your sneakers if you can’t wash them??? Either wear socks with your sneakers, to keep your shoes and feet relatively clean, and then wash them, or say fuck it, and just wear the sneakers. Just pick one!!!!!

Are you into cooking at all? The holidays are coming (you can treat yourself, too!) https://www.amazon.com/Treasury-Great-Recipes-50th-Anniversary/dp/1606600729 Vincent was known as quite the gourmand!
Have you read David Niven’s two books? He tells wonderful stories of Hollywood’s Golden Age. The books are funny and poignant without being salacious. One of my favorite bits is when Niven shared a house with Errol Flynn that they named “Cirrhosis-by-the-Sea” because of the non-stop partying that went on there.
The plot of The Mirror Crack’d is based partially around the birth of her first child - she hugged a fan who turned out to have German Measles. Tierney contracted them and her daughter was born with learning disabilities and all sorts of issues.
A bit OT, but I always maintained that Gene Tierney was the most beautiful actress of all-time, specifically in Otto Preminger’s Laura. Sadly she battled mental health issues for much of her life.
This movie and the original We’re No Angels are THE BEST. I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve watched them both, starting when I was maybe 5 years old.
