@Orage42: agreed. I like getting gift cards over cash because it gives me a reason to do something I might not normally do like go to a nice restaurant or see some new movie in IMAX.

@ohnoitsaspider: the translation isn't the impressive part. The impressive part is how they overlay the translation onto the image. They even do a pretty decent job of matching the font

@thing-fish: your cell phone doesn't last 10 hours?

Like many have said, Google or Stack Overflow. If it isn't programming related, I've used yahoo answers once or twice.

I remember there being a bunch of Wikipedia apps that actually stored a local copy of wikipedia for offline browsing. Those were probably bigger than 1 gb.

@TampaShooters: because you can cook it in like a minute.

@Howard Blair: interesting, the menu bar is one of my favorite things about OSX. It's always in the same place so it's easy to find and I can just slide my mouse up and it stops at the top of the screen so it's easier to hit with a mouse.

How is it that 4chan could take down MasterCard, Visa, and PayPal (three sites I would hope have some of the tightest security on the net) but they couldn't take down tumblr? Was the war with tumblr less of a big deal?

@dethklokso: no you can be arrested for DDoSing a server, which, I believe, is a felony.

Interesting, so when I shared Internet with 8 people. We should have been using about 24 gb a day and about 720 GB a month. That would have put us at more than double comcasts cap. We never got any letters or charges from comcast so either they decided not to charge us (doubtful) or this study is wrong.

@Ravennl: only if you closed your eyes or turned off every light in your house first.

@flink: they're not confirming it, they're trying to figure out why it happened. Newton wasn't the first person to figure out that Apple's fall out of trees. He figured out WHY they did.

@dyowell: You really stopped talking to your close friends because of Facebook? I still talk to my close friends in real life and on the phone. There are plenty of interesting people I've met over the years that don't merit a weekly phone call.

@Gravity: I think he meant that all of the fonts there were boring and overused.

I wonder how long it takes this guy to prepare a good presentation instead of an outstanding one.

@cyblob: you put it together wrong. Mine doesn't do that and its been a year and a half.

@DouglasJayFalcon: Its called a head chopper. On a lot of coasters they're purposely put their to scare people but they're actually a lot farther away than they look.

Wow, almost everyone in that video is very overweight.

@Tim the Enchanter: but Apple doesn't need to store copies of every file you have on their servers. They just need to have 1 copy of every song that somebody has and then stream it to everyone. That is how Lala worked, and since Apple bought Lala, I imagine that is how it will work for them too.
