One of the problems is a lot of white people can’t imagine that there is actually a systemic problem with race in this country. I actually saw Roxanne Shante a few months ago. The Juice Crew (currently consisting of her, Big Daddy Kane, Kool G Rap, MC Shan and Masta Ace) played a couple of dates in the UK. Shante acted as compare/master of ceremonies and probably had the most stage time of the lot of them. She definitely had a real presence.
