Accepted. Although I admit my brain cannot fully handle this argument because I read the book. It is one of the rare instances where I like the movie more.

The family trip was to Rochester/Niagara Falls a few years ago (they plan them around my dad’s conferences), but I didn’t go. They didn’t feel as if there was enough to do there so I’ll pass this conversation along to them. They do wish they’d explored the lake more.

My impression is that it’s a little of both. But I am curious about it because, of course, I don’t have the sentimental attachment to it. I appreciated the book, but I didn’t love it. And I think at least some of that response is because I wasn’t reading it as a young person.

I haven’t read Ender’s Game, but I’ve heard this same thing from others and I’m curious in a similar way.

Yeah, you can write a whole other article on that one.

I’ve had 3 people tell me I need to see A Wrinkle in Time so that we can complain about it together. I’m the only one who read the book as an adult so my childhood was always safe.

As my dad pointed out to me this weekend while I was home, they weren’t even airing the debate state-wide on local TV which is crazy. So it’s unclear who even saw it in Texas.

Well, white male privilege and the dangers of how much prosecutorial discretion we accept in this country.

Exactly. And wow, Larry Tribe, I didn’t know that. Amazing.

One counter is when multiple people get sick who have only shared one meal. That’s what happened the last time I got sick from a restaurant. The person who was the least sick was the one who only had a bit of what everyone else was eating. We figured one of the cooks had norovirus or something and then went on a

That is the future!

I feel like there was some kind of headphones breaking point recently or something. Everything really is terrible.

My general assessment of what is a suburb of DC is “what would House Hunters say?” and then complain about the answer (Herndon, my ass).

I think one of my cats would love it—she’s a total adventurer. The other likes the idea of it but would ask to wait in the car after 5 minutes (because she was a stray and she’d worked too hard to sucker me into adopting her to spend any more time in the wild).

This is the best. I was hiking in a poppy reserve in CA with a friend and there were all these “NO DOGS” signs posted everywhere. We were rounding a corner and saw a leash and my friend got pissed because he would have loved to bring his dogs but was following the rules. Turned out this dude was walking his cat--the

Thank you for validating that 1) development offices have some of the most wonderfully random people; 2) podcasts are the ideal running soundtrack; and  3) breakfast is expendable if it fits your lifestyle.

Another thing I find morally reprehensible is all the talk about how forgiving we should be to juvenile misconduct, knowing full well most of these folks only ever care when it involves “one of their own.” Any other day, they are completely uninterested in doing anything to address how messed up our juvenile justice

Ha, yeah! The Walking Dead in particular is such a funny show because there really are so many Brits interpreting an American, sometimes specifically an accent from Georgia, with various levels of success. And only one person really got it spot on (the dude who played the Governor).

I didn’t have Amazon Prime when I first heard of it so I just forgot it was a thing. I love shows about comedy but I don’t love historical dramas. I feel like it’s a unique enough premise to at least catch a few episodes.

I believe Regina King won in best actress limited series but Sandra Oh was nominated for best actress drama series (so not against each other). Why do I have recall of these things? Then again, the limited series categories provided the most surprises for me.
