Big Shampoo is probably also salty about the co-wash movement. I haven’t used shampoo in probably close to 5 years. But now everybody and their mom has a line of “cleansing conditioners” trying to cash in on the natural hair movement. I see you.

I agree with all of that. I haven’t been the Pearl since they started to transform it a few years ago. It was a little on the sparse side then, but I hear it’s great now.
Viva Fiesta, y’all. I love that dumb celebration (it really is a fun couple of weeks). San Antonio has grown obviously, but it’s actually surprising how little it’s changed in terms of always feeling like a smaller city and not the humongous sprawl that it is. That’s mostly a good thing I think. But the fact that they…
Well, it’s San Antonio, which is a majority Hispanic city so that mixes up the formula a bit. Not to say that there aren’t crazy slavery conspiracy theorists there, but it’s a fairly liberal city that’s more Southwest than South.
I know, it’s so irritating. I’ve lived all over and this smugness is ridiculous. People need to spend more time supporting the folks in the blue spots in these states rather than wallowing in self-righteousness from places that have their own serious problems.
Haha, I totally didn’t recognize Madison Keys. I was like who is that?
It’s definitely possible. They’re going to have to run a tight ship though. Keep the inconsistencies to a minimum or it’s just going to fall apart. There are a lot of heavy hitters in the way of that repeat.
Fed Cup this weekend?
I’m about to go down a rabbit hole...
Neither did tennis stans. It’s a thing!
I love all of this. And bless your heart for #6. I have an iPhone now because my job gave it to me, but I won’t shut up about how much better my Android was. And I didn’t even have a nice one—I just really liked that it had a pull out keyboard because I still can’t use a touch screen keyboard for nothing.
I caught this when I was a senior in HS with all my alternative-type POC friends and we loved it. We were also huge fans of STP and Thrill Kill Kult, and I’m still a huge NIN fan. It’d be interesting to see how that translated watching it today. It was actually the muliti-racial urban fantasy vibe that stood out so…
7:30 is the perfect time. It used to be my informal timer for the gym—it kept me on the treadmill because I wouldn’t want to miss any of the segments.
It’s a great system. He has it setup in his office. I could fit it, but I’m trying to be an adult about it. And I want to be a respectful neighbor (mostly to justify when I want others to knock it off with their noise).
Hahaha. Someone once brought potatoes and some kind of greens. My friend was like, what am I supposed to do with this? And then she did something fantastic with it. What a good sport.
Cool! My dad is giving me his entire collection and the only thing holding him back is that I live in a small apartment and worry about the space. We’ve been exploring ideas since he’s willing to part with his whole setup, but I definitely don’t want his huge speakers and am on the fence about the turntable too.
Right? It’s obnoxious. Like the actual explanation was “I saw these beautiful <x vegetables> and thought it would be wonderful addition to the meal.
It was only mildly obnoxious. But it was obnoxious. Phil LaMarr is great about a lot of things, but his relationship with this issue is certainly complicated.
This is wonderful, thank you!
This is a weird take. I’d much rather get flowers than booze I’m probably not going to drink. It takes like 30 seconds to stick flowers in a cup or vase. A full minute if you want to trim the stems.
