It is a running joke with my friends that I’m always going to be the contrarian when people cite gender roles to explain their viewpoint. I recognize that gender roles are a guiding factor on some level, but they’re not that important to me. It’s more about about aligning the expectations of the two individuals in the

Shoulda remanded to determine whether any of these fools survive deserve redress for not clearly indicating which was the big joker.

Truth.

That’s a shame because Martina is such a better commentator—calls the match as is, keeps the speculation and hyperbole to a minimum, is entertaining, and I trust her perspective. John McEnroe isn’t the worst (that’s a difficult title given how about the American commentators are as a whole), but he’s not great. He’s

You know, I’ve checked out on American broadcast commentary for the most part. For a while, I was good with The Tennis Channel because they cut out all the hyperbole and personal narrative and just called the damn match as is. Back when it was Martina, Lindsay Davenport, and Katrina Adams, it was all good. I’d even

This perfectly encapsulates my feelings when I saw that bit of news. Going from 0 to Killmonger seems about right. Goddammit Arizona!

This is absurd. I suspect that there are already criminal enhancements on the books that can get to that. I hate nonsense policymaking like this.

Maybe it should be a combo? People tend to seek out what’s comfortable, and I think there’s value in at least putting oneself in circumstances to meet people from a different (or perceived different) walks of life. Maybe being a little inorganic pushes us to evaluate who and why we surround ourselves with the people

On the hydration point, I don’t prefer sparking water because it doesn’t feel satisfyingly hydrating. And I don’t like the taste. But boy do my co-workers down that stuff.

I’m talking generally, not just in one instance. It’s well documented the tactics many CPCs use to hide their religious and ideological counseling tactics or refusal to provide resources to abortion information or other women’s health providers.

Yes to all of that! This woman last week got so irritated and popped off something like, “I guess it’s gonna be a long ride this morning” when there were maybe 4 stops signaled. Long? As in still under 45 seconds? Sure.

See, that’s what I’d expect logically. I get not having non-white friends if one lives in a place with an overwhelmingly white population. It seems really, really hard not to ever have had a non-white friend in a big, diverse city. I mean, I know it’s the case often, but I can’t help thinking it’s intentional.

Yeah, they are based on how they advertise and market themselves. If that’s what they want to do, fine. Just be candid about it. In contrast, abortion clinics are pretty straightforward on what they’re about.

That’s awesome.

Alexandria is prettier, but I greatly prefer Arlington. Like no contest. And I’ve lived in both places. The food is definitely better and I’ve found it easier to get around there.

Pretty much. It’s great for a a couple of days if you’re not trying to do a lot of stuff. But it just doesn’t have the breadth of character that DC does (or the ease of getting around). I don’t doubt that people really enjoy Alexandria, but it’s not a place I’d recommend to many people.

Georgetown is legit terrible. But I don’t love Alexandria either. It has it’s quaint parts that are probably better for people with families. The economic inequality for the city as a whole is really staggering, though. I know they’re trying to be better, but it’s a long road.

What’s the verdict on facing front? I read a long time ago that it makes people really uncomfortable when you face inside the elevator. I do face the back fairly regularly when I take an elevator with a group of people I know just to check out how people respond.

Seriously. My friend got this all the time for having the audacity not to disclose that she has a heart problem. What a jerk, right? Ugh.

Well, that’s kind of an intellectual dishonest argument that really negates any legitimate engagement on the issue. CPCs as a matter of practice conceal and/or obfuscate what they do. If they want to dissuade people from having abortions, just say that instead of resorting to trickery. It completely concedes the
