Right?!?! And I now recall all about LePage’s antics. Maine is just an odd place. It’s like a portal to another planet or something.

I really really really hope so.

I didn’t think he does it anymore but it was glorious.

It’s weird because the only 2 people I’ve heard of from Maine are Stephen King and this black gay farmer whose tennis blog I followed (who then got elected to local government). It’s the strangest thing to know about Maine.

Thank you for validating my continued distrust for north and east Texas. The lawn burning factor has kept my hateration pretty solid, but it’s good to have reminders. Of course central Texas has its own brand of foolishness.

Black Mirror doesn’t make me miserable at all. It really just confirms the dysfunction that is already around us and takes it to an absurd extreme to highlight that. And I appreciate that getting exposed.

But every flavor of Talenti tastes just slightly off to me. Perhaps that is the appeal...

I think statistically speaking it’s higher in black folks. Although for my personal experience, my people developed it later in life. My mom and sister didn’t get it until they were in their 40s.

Activator withdrawal. It’s a helluva drug.

Why y’all always got better pics than me?!?!?!

Ha! Well, I’m from San Antonio so my high yellow-ness along with my top-shelf curl activator usage in the early 90s meant triple code-switching on the regular.

Yep, appearance only for me. It’s the whole look: light skinneded, facial hair, is it natural or S-Curl type hair, the fact that they both look like my brother.

Also, I’m forever confusing him w/Al B. Sure.

People were definitely confused. I actually only found out about it a couple of days before and I live like 10 minutes from where it started. The March for Black Women seemed mostly made up of women of color from where I was, but the March for Racial Justice after everyone combined was pretty mixed.

I didn’t know what to expect from this event, but it was cool. Even after the marches combined, there were a lot of reminders of how significant standing up for black women is to the movement: lots of great chants, the insistence that black women lead, and everyone taking a knee except for the black women while

That scheduling problem is true and understandable. There were actually a good number of Jewish folks there, though. Some had signs saying “I pray with my feet.” Not a choice everyone can or should make, but I thought it was cool.

People are bold. I’ve seen folks with their dog on a restaurant patio where you can only go through the restaurant to access it. I was in a bookstore the other day and this lady had a huge dog (like taller than my hip-level) that she let sniff and nudge all over me. Didn’t even care.

My fave was when I went to a poppy reserve in CA and they had no dog signs everywhere. My friend was kind of salty about it because he thought his pups would love it there. But he respected it.

Worse in some ways neutral in others. Scalia was outspoken and rude and often on the wrong side of legal common sense in my opinion. But he was transparent and very clear about his judicial philosophy. He owned what he said and how he said it and he actively participated in a dialogue on it. I didn’t agree, but it

Honestly, I’m less concerned about Gorsuch and more concerned about the circuit and district courts that will have a more immediate opportunity to impact peoples’ lives. We should be talking more about that and Republicans’ blatant lies and hypocrisy in whining about and obstructing judicial appointments for years and
