Billy, do you think this kind of stuff (and Olympics) has always been the case, or is the "shady-ness" a new thing?

All very true. Camden Yards was one of the few hitter friendly parks before it was cool to have one (cc: Vet Stadium vs. Citizens Bank Park).
but the only thing MLB sold me (as a 10 year old kid at the time) was his consecutive game streak, and not his stats. Sure he amassed a great HOF career, but guys like Troy Tulowitzki are on pace for a much better fielding and hitting career (if he plays 2300+ games).
Cal Ripken was a great player, but how do so many see him as an immortal great of the game? i mean there's 10 active mlb players better.
You mean go to the playoffs for 14 seasons without winning anything?! Until the 15th season when he is an afterthought?!
Stop. RPI is a joke because it says Kansas is a better basketball team than Kentucky. You are only hurting your "RPI is great" argument.
being a fan of the non-elite teams (Everton) is tough. Very hard to get behind a mediocre team when they aren't your hometown squad or you have no connection. I am lucky enough to live on the East Coast and have seen a ton of the elites play in person (chelsea, united, barca, real and many more). When they are over…
EPL is always the most balanced and riveting week in and out.
I see the EPL being much like the NHL or MLB these days as far as competition. You have a good idea of who's going to be good...but you are full of shit if you predicted the Royals-Orioles ALCS. You are full of shit if you thought Manchester United would…
they have "skill games" where you can pretty easily just sit in the corner and score goals into an empty net with no defenders/offense around.
Best Buy has 20x the selection in most relevant categories for what seems half the price. Amazon has infinite selection for 20% of the RadioShack price.
these are all problems that plagued Man United in their dreadful 2013-14 campaign. A season where they finished 7th in the much more competitive Premier League.
"low life scum" who got into college, something that didn't happen to you with that spelling.
while I do agree with this to a sense, you can't ignore Oregon missing it's wideouts. Pee Wee football teams are in trouble if players at the level those WR are(were), in a passing offense, would be in trouble.
So you mean to tell me it's worse to have a 8 minute drive end in a FG instead of scoring an 80 yard TD that takes 15 seconds?! The blasphemy!
i'm insulted now that i know there is a D-League team called the "legends"
I haven't gotten over the fact that soccer overseas is set up so much better than any and all American sports. This is like your local A level or amateur baseball team getting a chance at the Yankees (well maybe more like the Dodgers).
so 15 yards for celebrating a TD but illegally running on the field to bitch about a call is allowed?
I know an old rumor was that Joe Pa wouldn't let it happen. Maybe Franklin would, and it's not like the field is being used December-January (which is a concern about having a winter classic somewhere where pro football exists.
To be fair, the "bro" behind her is freaking me out too.
dangerous game you are playing here, sir.
