not even a penalty past the fighting major. I can't remember a case of player-referee violence in recent hockey resulting in a suspension....again stuff like Carcillo acting agitated alone against an official (and not missing another player with a punch) is beyond rare.

NHL was horrendous when they had that rule, nothing but taking shots from the point...breakaways sucked because the player had to shoot...any type of deke finds your skate in the crease.
