A few points:

It is at this point that some teams would’ve tanked, waiting for their newly acquired stockpile of picks to grow and eventually come good, before they went out and tried to become a better basketball team.

The cap space is going to be great and the Celtics have certainly accumulated a ton of assets, but they are really going to need a superstar type player to make this work. And in order to get some of the top guys this offseason, they will need to pay a considerable amount more than their competition.

As a Hawks fan I found it somewhat ironic this article was written right in the wake of the Celtics losing to the Hawks, the situations aren’t quite exactly the same but the Hawks of the past three years or so basically seem like a test run for this Celtics journey.

The only problem is that they have to pull one superstar out of that mix (it probably won’t be Kevin Durant) - otherwise their ceiling is the 2014-15 Hawks.
