They can still do that if they want. Nestle does not own the aquifer they own rights to pump a certain amount of water out of it and it acts completely separately from municipal water sources and pumps.

Its still a thing because the Flint mayor is handing out money to political allies and its costing upwards of 7,500 per pipe when if you shop the work out yourself its less than 2 grand and when the state does it its less than 4 grand.

Its funny how all this happened because one liberal led city (Detroit) decided to fuck another liberal run city (Flint) on the price of water because Flint decided to switch off Detroit’s water system and move the Karegnondi Water Authority before their pipeline was completed to actually get water to Flint.

You know the nestle bottling plant is 130 miles away from Flint right?

Your understanding is half right and half wrong. It was the water itself that stripped the coating because it was too acidic and not treated.
