I used to be this way. Then I realized I was tired of assholes taking advantage of me (and other non-assholes).
I don’t think I’ve veered into asshole territory yet. But I’m certainly not polite to everyone. Especially, once they’ve proven themselves to be an asshole.

No one has proof of any one this. I said that in my last comment.

When your starting pitcher says something is going to make him pitch worse...I think it’s reasonable to assume that that decreases your chance of winning.
The starter has the most impact on the outcome of a single game.
And even if the whole idea is only in the pitcher’s head...It’s in his head. The fact that it’s in

1) Not everything is a zero sum game. You can prioritize winning, and do business-y stuff. You don’t have to choose one or the other.

Maybe I have OCD, or I’m on the spectrum. But wearing uncomfortable clothes can be a decent sized distraction while doing anything - let alone being responsible for throwing 95 mph fastballs with pinpoint accuracy.

You don’t see how being comfortable might impact performance? Really?
