it’s harmless now, but inevitably in a couple years, someone’s gonna suggest that this thing fights a Tesla-bot. then the Battlebot guys are gonna get involved and figure out how to weaponize them. then that information will exist. and when the singularity happens, the AI will find it, and we’re screwed.  

i dunno. i was born in the 80's so my entire life, i’ve been familiar with the concept of a robot buddy/butler/pet/protector. who didn’t want their own R2-D2/Rosie/Dynomutt/Terminator back when it wasn’t so realizable? when i got an Echo, i wasn’t thinking 1984, i was thinking JARVIS.

when you say “Chris Pratt as Mario”, it sounds so weird. but if you frame it as “Emmet from Lego Movie as Mario”, it goes down a little easier. i can see some of Emmet’s naively happy energy working with modern Mario.

Andy Dwyer with a guitar is basically a Jack Black impression. I definitely see Jack Black come through in some of Pratt’s cadences, mannerisms, and humor. I had a suspicion that Pratt’s role in Onward was originally conceived for Black.

i think part 6 is my favorite, it’s basically an action movie version of Talladega Nights. the crew have to face off against their douchey European counterparts who race F1 cars.

in part 5, they successfully pull off a heist and become millionaires, so in part 6 they can buy whatever they want

i could see them doing a rebootquel, following Dr. Samantha Beckett as she leaps through time. she suffers some kind of amnesia, but through the course of the season, she and we find out that her original goal was trying to find her dad. Scott Bakula shows up in the season 1 finale.
