an observation about the opening of the episode:

imagine if WB had greenlit a Deadshot miniseries before the first Suicide Squad opened. 

nah, words being pronounced differently than they’re spelled, and “exceptions to the rule” are core pillars of the english language.

as a Marvel fan, and with the perspective that Black Widow was primarily a movie about the MeToo Movement in Hollywood (with a Marvel skin), i can appreciate all of their decisions. Marvel was used as a metaphor here.

then you have to rewrite it so that Natasha and Yelena aren’t carrying the antidote, because every fight scene i would be screaming “just use the antidote on them!”. maybe there is no antidote until Melina creates one in the third act. 

They took a pretty interesting and compelling comic book character, stole that character’s name and design, and assigned it to a new character who (without the mask) has the charm and charisma of a 2X4.

this movie (and any future live-action Taskmaster moving forward) begs for better fight choreography. Taskmaster fights need to tell stories. generic action with some fancy move sprinkled underserves the character.

Red Guardian didn’t get any memorable action moments. he needed a moment in his fight against Taskmaster, where she does a Steve Rogers-esque spinning kick or shield throw, and Red Guardian counters it perfectly, and the audience goes “ah, maybe he could hold his own against Cap”.

“That’s a shit plan.” seems like a Russian way of saying it

The Red Room was really supposed to be a big deal, then maybe the whole movie should have been just about finding out they still exist, then Pugh can take them down in a future movie.

this was my reaction after the car crash scene. like, had it been some SHIELD vehicle, i could say “alright they have some special reinforcement and protection” but this was just some passerby’s standard vehicle. they would be dead after a crash like that.

30 seconds of CGI costs $$$ though. 

Mario is tied up with the mob? oh no.
