I don't get the outrage here, unless it's that they would put anyone at all in a cell with a rapist. Since I think we all here subscribe to the theory that rape is primarily about control and not attraction, why does it matter more that this particular person presents as a woman?

I went to U of C and I agree about the workload (it's quarters though), though the best and hardest part is scav. I kind of wish I had skipped school entirely and just lived with some roommates in a gentrifying neighborhood smoking weed and living the bar life for four years. I got married a week after graduation and

Bone marrow is so delicious.

Thank you! They have (or had, this was five years ago this week) a Jason's Deli worthy salad bar, and their terrifying mystery looking food is all homemade and delicious. But if you're going to fay skip everything and go here:

It's out in the middle of nowhere under a leaky water

If only every other country would enact a similar ban and give existing American children a better chance at being adopted.

Cracker Barrel is so good for no reason. I feel like I should be ideologically opposed to them somehow but they really can do no wrong. I miss the good old days of the smoking section though, but that's more the fault of state laws.

Some hospitals really kill it in the food department. One of my favorite lunch spots in the world is the basement cafeteria of the Womack Army Medical Center on Fort Bragg. Nothing made me angrier during four days of labor than knowing how many people were enjoying that delicious slop just four measly floors down

they are entitled to a safe place to live, food, medical care, and an education. I want more for them but I want more for a lot of children who have a lot less. I can't bring myself to be outraged here. It's weird but there are a lot of weird people raising kids in weird ways.

"It's not exactly harming my mental health because I'm sane and a grownup and realized long ago the internet isn't a safe space"

It's true. We lived there for two years and this is completely normal behavior for the natives. I'm shocked that something so basic made gawker. IDK about the rest of the charges but I do have some good news! In NM it's only a $25 fine (which you can pay on the spot) if you're driving with a baby on your lap, so

Here too. We've been together 14 years and we've had one legitimate fight. We disagree and debate all the time but when I think "fight" I think messy and hurtful.

It's always fun to me how being solo with kids is frequently considered extenuating circumstances by most people, but only if you're from a two-parent household structure.

lol

comprehensive list of things i don't hate about that house:

thanks, and I know that logically and as a parent myself now I do realize just how fucked it was. but still, some childhood feels never really get resolved.

this is how I grew up too, but not until I was, you know, not three. plus we were always in packs which in and of itself is much more safe.

my 4 y/o goes to bed at 8:30 and gets up around 9:30 am. it doesn't even get dark here until that time except in midwinter, and I firmly do not believe in putting children to bed before it's dark. i'm no ned flanders.

my mom was really in to the concept of a "built in babysitter" as she called it, and I was responsible for my little brother from the time he was no longer breastfeeding until...now. once when I was seven we were at the park and some people were walking their dog. my brother was sitting on the ground munching a

Yeah I kind of agree in a way, but also I inherently disagree with expecting slightly older children to 1. be responsible for their siblings in any meaningful way and 2. to perform a task that is wildly beyond their abilities.
