This sounds so lovely and normal.

Are you me? I have a desk that overlooks a deck that I let my daughter play on. There is literally nothing on it except whatever toy she brings out with her, and I can SEE her from my desk. She is never more than 5-10 ft away. My neighbors have been super judgey about this because I am not standing next her.

Fun fact: the carriage was a gift from Ellen DeGeneres, according to the caption that accompanied that photo in “People.”

I said nothing about the baby, and nothing about how I eat. You commented about people worrying about paleo and gluten free, which is the comment I replied to.

Moses basket style sleepers can keep baby while cosleeping.

I’m glad you took responsibility for uour health. Congratulations. So many people are not willing to do that.

FYI, I grew up in a no processed sugar household. You know what? My whole life doesn’t revolve around food, I don’t get cravings And I easily maintain a lean frame. There is something absolutely wrong with a society that is mostly overweight defending the consumption of products that we no know are connected to

I recommend a Moses basket sleeper to all. Baby can be with you, but no roll over risk.

Your comment makes no sense. So, because we have access to clean water and food, we shouldn’t endeavor to eat in a way that optimizes our weight and health?

Sunnyside_Lady didn’t say anything about “natural”. She was relaying facts about co-sleeping in other cultures. Why are you assuming that the rest of the world is living in third world conditions and that they aren’t pursuing co-sleeping as a cultural and familial choice?

There is a difference between crying it out, and sleep training, which usually means checking the baby at intervals to calm/reassure them as they fall asleep. I co-slept with a moses basket and baby slept pretty soundly outside of waking up for feeding, so never really dealt with that stuff. I found the more quickly

Question: But if he didn’t cry when you sleep trained him, did you actually sleep train him? I have always understood sleep training to mean, “cry, check, cry, check, etc etc” while extending the time between checking in.

I love that you described homelessness as a feasible alternative to renting a crawlspace in nyc.

There are large groups of unvaccinated children in the US, specifically the Mennonites and a large population of Christian Scientists (not scientologists, to be clear). They just haven’t been studied and their autism rates are not documented. You wouldn’t have to create this population, just gather the data on them.

Why do you think you both got it, despite being vaccinated? I understand the concept of herd immunity, etc, but a vaccine failure rate of 2 individuals in one family is extraordinarily high.

Yes, and when you divide it all out by the number of hours they actually work, in terms of lecturesand office hours, the salaries are downright bonkers. They also tend to have great benefits, including childcare options.

My reply was in the context of the study availability, which, as mentioned don’t exist.

I didn’t think you filled a bathtub, but “bathe” implies that you are using copious amounts. Actually zero studies have been conducted on pregnant women, as it is considered dangerous to conduct *any* medical study on pregnant women. The studies are far and few between, consisting of animal studies and a randomized

I should have written *potentially safe* given the small number of studies available to us at this juncture.

It’s safe when used sparingly and irregularly. No studies have been conducted that had the users “bathing” themselves in the chemical, which does, in fact, have some toxic capacity. You don’t need to bathe yourself in it. You’ll get the same effect with 10% of the application vs the amount you are using, as it is an
