“I use lots of butter when I fry my eggs, and lots of bacon grease when I fry my potatoes

negotiate a good price”

Food is something you should not put into a nonstick pan, unless you like eating PFAS.

Avocado oil has a much higher smoke point than olive oil, which is one of the reasons I changed over to it. There is no flavor that I have noticed either. Works like a charm for my cast iron!

My current car (04 325xi, also manual) was an “interim” that I planned on replacing as my kids got bigger by now.

I have a little aerator, don’t remember where I got it even, and if I have to spray my non-stick pans with something, which is rare, I have that filled with olive oil and I just use that. I use that for baking things in the oven, casseroles, scalloped potatoes, things like that where I want a little coating before I

I wouldn’t smear the surface of my pan with egg yolk either, but frying an egg yolk (which sits on top of a white) or a scramble (where it is whisked together and emulsified with the protein) is different than coating the surface of the pan with with aerosolized lecithin, but you are welcome to treat your pans however

I use Chosen Foods 100% Pure Avocado Oil spray. The ingredients list only contains Avocado oil. Is there a chance there is something lecithin hiding in there?!

They might not go down to where they were pre chip shortage, but they will improve once the supply situation is better. One big factor are factory incentives. In a normal auto market they are available on virtually every model. Right now manufacturers are putting very little money on the hood because they don’t have

the biggest thing at the moment is this: If you really need a car RIGHT NOW look for cars that are not the best for your area. low riding cars where hills and snow are common, chunky pickups in metro areas, electric vehicles out in the sticks, etc.

“Mazda hatchback with a manual transmission...it’s great on the ‘needs’ side of the equation, but not so strong with the ‘wants’”

This is Lifehacker not Jalopnik lol

Yes, I know that :p

Glad to see the GOAT on this list. Northwest Territories, of course.

If anyone doesn’t think New Mexico is a US state, they are almost certainly located inland in a flyover state and not the Coasts.

The New York statue of liberty plate was a good one

FWIW, there are 3M N95s at my local Home Depot. Also for sale on their site for delivery. They are “fancy” Aura models (also fold flat, so I bought some for travel if I have to) and cost about $2 a mask, but they are available.

How odd. Not one single car I would buy.

Mr 7.5 GTI owner here. Yeah, VW really fucked up the GTI/R by getting rid of the knobs and buttons. Sales will drop off and they’ll blame it on manual transmissions and discontinue them.

I’d say there wasn’t really anything amazing and new from Hyundai/Kia this year. Plenty of good things, some things made better, some things made worse. Plenty of good choices to be found with the Koreans, but nothing really stands out to me.
