I buy all my diesel (every 2 weeks) at Costco and haven’t had to wait. Am I just lucky?

5th gear - So dealers are going to jack up retail repair rates to pad the costs they charge for warranty work, that’s nice. Also I love how super shitty dealers now get to fight to continue to suck. Tons of complaints? Scam multiple customers?35 pending lawsuits for bad transactions? Couple hundred bad faith loans…
Leading candidate for Nissan’s next CEO Elizabeth Holmes noted “People love ugly sedans with CVTs and that’s exactly what we’re going to focus on.”
Sadly no info in the EXIF to show what sort of camera took these fine photos. Still, feels very appropriate for the era of car. Now if you’ll excuse me I have some Whitesnake to listen to.
It’s also quite surprisingly light outside for the 11pm - 1am the pictures were apparantly taken!
$4k for a 34 year-old econobox with 175k on the clock that was honestly never that great (I owned one)? think I’ll pass.
$1.25 per litre times 4 = $5.00
It would be a much more interesting world if your airline ticket was based on how much you and your stuff weigh and the volume of space you take up. It would be the fairest way to price but the world would lose its collective shit over this.
1st Gear: Wall Street sucks. “Oh noes, you’re trying a big restructuring that will take a while to play out? You’ve got an EV deal with VW that might turn out great? Who cares! Let’s look at your quarterly numbers and see how you did over the last three months... Off with your head!”
I live in a state where people just voted in a gas tax and the government spends it on what they call road diets to take away drive lanes, and high speed rail, and metro lines nobody uses.
2nd Gear: Mrs. Ghost’s Prius costs us an extra $100 a year in registration fees, despite the fact that she still pays for gas at the pump, just at a better MPG rate. It’s some absurd, regressive bullshit.
I was a Ford fan for most of my life, but their decision to abandon sedans brought that to an end. Whether or not it proves to be a fiscally sound decision remains to be seen.
2nd Gear: The logical plan is to switch to a “distance x weight” formula of registration fees. This should get people paying for (very roughly) the amount of road that they use. Out of state travel will be a bit of a challenge to deal with, but it shouldn’t be too bad.
1st: Doesn’t VW pretty much have to STFU about everything until they’ve lived down their own shame?

“The trade war between the U.S. and China, a dramatically mismanaged fiasco orchestrated by President Trump...”
It is a fair price and it is in decent condition.
A few things to undo, but it is otherwise clean and well-presented. This is a lot of vehicle for under $6k. Even with the wrap and wheels remedied, it’s not one of the better looking SUVs. If you can get over that, it’s a bargain if you are brand-agnostic, and looking for a full size SUV.
2nd gear: “We’re in the middle of a climate crisis,” said Marion Thiemann, transport-policy expert at Greenpeace. “The biggest problem is the automobile industry.”
If you let a single bad interaction with a dealer’s finance manager put you off a brand, you’ll run out pretty quickly.
