wouldn't the beach be the largest cat box ever? No good could come of that!

yes, I would have liked it with a nice sweetheart neckline. This is like the equivalent of an American burqa.

This look would have given Prince Humperdink a heart attack.

Do you remember how awesome she looked in Vogue? Why does she always look so shitty at these award shows? It's like a popsicle mated with a muppet.

I try! I think many of them just don't want to accept that summer is over and school is nigh!

Mostly it's fun. I like the teaching part. The grading is death. At least with chemistry it's right or it's wrong. You get the reaction or it blows up.

?

OMG 6-10 p.m.??? I would be exhausted and so cranky by the end.

oooh no. The syllabus and who I am take about 15-20 minutes. How I run the class? Lecture/examples/practice. Students have to do the readings and they'll be fine. It's a two-hour class, so we jump right in.

I'm totally stunned by the cost of some of the books out there. Those pre-med books are ridiculous. I make my students do a lot of work, but I'm cheap ;)

They have several readings this week and homework due every class. The quizzes are a pain but I found that if I don't give, they don't do the readings and fall behind.

I used a textbook once and the students hated it and I hated it. Now I just use an $18 stylebook and send electronic readings. They do have to buy the latest edition but we use it in every class and they need it for all their homework.

A visiting guest asked for an overhead projector. I don't even think we have one in the department.

Oh yeah, I really suck up every minute. I divide the class into lecture/examples/practice.

They could use last year or this year's edition. I would've been fine if they bought it on Amazon. The book itself is only $18 - and that and $7 copying fees are the total cost for the semester.

The entire cost of the class, including the book is $25. You need the book for every class, and for all the homework. I purposefully only use this book and not one of the $120 textbooks to keep costs down for students, so I expect them to buy it.

I sent out multiple emails warning students that they would need the book the first day in class. They get quizzes every week ;)

Exactly. Most college classes have reading due the first day of class!

What introductions? This isn't a play group. It's a college class.

classes start tomorrow. first quiz Wednesday. There is an online stylebook but having the print edition is much, much handier - students write in it and mark the commonly used sections.
