Le Clos calls Phelps his “idol” and doesn’t actually “hate him”. There was a riffs between them from 2013-2015 because of Phelps totally reasonable observation that while he was away from the sport the times put up in the 100 and 200 flys, Le Clos’s best events, were “not that fast”.
