It seems pretty clear the gofundme was created so they could go on GMA and then take what they could while “helping” this guy who is also clearly not in a position to be magically helped.

I had read the book and knew the twist on the twist was coming but was still surprised by how little time they left for it. Having read the book made it harder to tell what I was picking up on subtext from the show vs what I was just filling in with book based knowledge.

I think if you build up a premise and then don’t pay it off well, people will decide your series was a bit of a let down. Then if you follow it up with a shit show of epic proportions people will decide maybe you don’t know what you’re doing and be skeptical of your third series even if it looks solid in a 30 second…
