No, those are my favorite movies!
It’s the end of the week! Let’s give it up for ourselves for making it through and to Robyn Lively for agreeing to…
I’m from Georgia and not personally Episcopal but my roommate grew up as such and his church is very LGBTQ friendly.
What?! Bad pastor, bad! Episcopalians are our brothers and sisters! And anyway, the “implosion” he’s referring to happened 10 years ago, and was engineered by a right-wing group out to divide the denomination to reduce their ability to effect positive change (i.e. lobbying for school lunches for those people).
Yes exactly. As a fellow Mississippian I think that’s way off base. If same sex unions could get approved by popular vote in MS? You’ve already passed your biggest hurdle. I have no idea where that guy is even coming from. The big split happened back when we started ordaining gay priests almost 20 years ago. This…
I would say the fact that they have been performing same sex unions in states where gay marriage was illegal (due to a popular vote) would be an example that this particular branch actually did not wait for the ordinary standards of moral behavior to catch up. They’ve been doing same sex unions since back when states…
Um, EXCUSE ME??
The Episcopal Church has been ordaining gays and lesbians and offering same sex couples blessing ceremonies inside the church for years. The parishes that couldn’t accept that have already defected and aligned themselves with conservative parishes in Africa and South America. If Episcopalians don’t vote to approve gay…
Yep. The church had already approved that and was ahead of the curve considering they were doing same sex unions in states where gay marriage was illegal. Even in MS a majority vote of the membership approved solemnizing same sex unions several years ago. Now that gay marriage is legal it’s a pretty natural next step…
Way back when I lived in MI in the early 2000s our bishop, Wendell Gibbs, was African American. I’m not sure where your info came from but it’s not accurate that they just elected their first AA bishop. I’m not sure that he was even the first one and he was installed 15 years ago.
It should be noted that the Episcopal Church already blesses same-sex unions. This discussion is about sacramental marriage.
If you’re taking a New Yorker’s advice on Mexican food, you deserve a mouthful of mealy green peas.
3. ARE THEY BONING?
My friend captured this great video of Scully ROCKING the tambourine.
