It’s a valid question. People only have so much time in their days and don’t necessarily want to have to scan through lots of posts they are not interested in.

Did anyone else feel like the first scene was a reference (homage?) to Star Trek? From the whole set up of the bridge with the attention to Comms (yes, I know SW has that too, but I’m looking at the whole assemblage); to the “meet me in the docking bay with a security detail” felt very Star Trek to me.

I watched the first episode last night and was troubled (not by a disturbance in the force) by the cliched rebellious teen character of Sabine. Oh, look! She’s riding off on a Harley speeder instead of being where she should be. Oh, look! She’s taken the map off the ship so she can get attacked and the enemy take it, a

TI has been demoing this tech for touch panels for some years. You can see a video on it here: https://www.ti.com/video/5849053520001

From a fairness perspective this matters to the people involved. People want to get recognition and being left out hurts. However, despite my passion for fairness, I’m not going to get worked up about this because it was completely optional for the games industry to adopt the movie industry practice of having credits

Agreed that lack of respect for source material is a problem, but The Witcher is bad even for people who don’t know the source material. I’ve only played The Witcher 3: TWH game, and the show (especially S3) is just bad writing period.

As a consumer of movies, who’s not in the industry, can someone remind me why I should be interested in how much money a movie makes?

It would appear that every accusation made by Republicans is something that they are doing themselves. It’s projection every time.

No aliens would be that obnoxious.

The Starliner program is a fixed price contract, but Boeing has been conditioned by a long history of cost-plus contracts where they make more money the more they spend.

There are RGB-IR sensors used for some industrial applications. They are not well-suited for high-quality video (for consumption by picky human beings), as they trade-off resolution in the green channel, which is the most important for luma resolution.

Quite impressive. The colors seem slightly off (the woman’s skin is has less red). It would be nice to see delta-C values reported for color checker chart patches to really see how it’s doing in this regard.

Yes, and it’s sad that those jokes exist, given MSG doesn’t cause them, and the whole anti-MSG furor is rooted in American anti-Asian racism.

I doubt they had sufficient budget to purchase a Raspberry Pi given the crazy prices they were selling for during the pandemic!

As is long overdue, as fear of monosodium glutamate is rooted in American anti-Asian racism, not medical science.

I suspect Sauron out bid him.

Not if the buyer was Sauron. He was seeking it. Seeking it, all his thought was bent on it.

Why aren’t these bigots instead protesting outside banks who are engaged in the egregious sin of usury (changing interest on loans)? Even a cursory search will show 17 places in the OT where usury is condemned versus two places where homosexuality is condemned. In the NT, Jesus makes no mention of homosexuality, but

You don’t need someone to directly experience something to know it’s true. The science of rapidly collapsing air bubbles is pretty well understood. We have equations, computation, and lab experiments that allow us to know things.
