I realize it’s not cool to really show emotion or whatever, but that shit was easily one of the most incredible moments of my life. It was really cool to experience it with my husband and daughter, who is 13 years old and didn’t touch her cell phone for at least 15 minutes! Pretty amazing.

I really thought the coolest part was the ‘diamond ring’ effect you could see just as totality was ending. I think I gasped out loud. Seriously beautiful.

Some how I avoided most of the traffic. It took me an extra 10 minutes on my 100 mile drive there and really no extra time on the way home, I just got caught in normal Asheville rush hour traffic. We ended up with a really nice group of people who shared their telescopes and pictures.
