Ehrm, yes? Office has gotten marginally better through the years, but it’s still very much a Microsoft product: lots of unnecessary interface elements and a total lack of understanding of how the software is actually used.

“... but their facial animations are still pretty bad, in that Bethesda way, and the dialogue and camerawork during in-game conversations is consistently mediocre”

I think this is mostly because each horror movie / game tries to do exactly the same trick as all the movies/games before it. It’s only scary to people who experience this for the first time.

For me it was the save system that ruined the game. You can’t expect your players to carefully hide for 10 minutes, then die, then do it again. I started to speedrun the levels and sometimes that actually worked, but it took all enjoyment out of the game.

But... the Orcs aren’t green?

The final proof that modern culture has become one big marketing-stunt.

It’s quite a complex issue. If every area is immediately reachable by fast-travel or extremely short distance, missions start to feel like just checking a list. Fast travel to A, talk to B, fast travel to C, mission complete. There has to be some kind of travel involved to keep the feeling of living in a huge desolate

Haha, that’s exactly what always bothers me about open world games. The whole world seems to be standing still in a kind of stasis, until the player character comes along. Opposing gangs can sit literally 20 seconds away from each other for hours, days, weeks without anything ever changing. The player character has to

Fools! The logs aren’t made of Lego! Even as a kid, I wouldn’t stand for this nonsense.

Yeah... but I don’t even mind glitches that much. (unless they’re game-breaking). I’d just like to see the game improve beyond graphics alone.

Well for example, the wooden animations and facial expressions in previous FO games are terrible. Faces in conversations often look weird and are very badly lighted. AI movement is clunky and glitchy.

On the one hand, I’m super excited for this game, on the other hand, these images seem to suggest that the biggest change from fallout 3 is the HD resolution. It looks nice, yes, but did they fix some of the flaws/annoyances of fallout 3??

Never have I been so excited about rusty pipes.

Some devs actually prefer less readable code, perhaps so they can feel superior for understanding it, I don’t know.

For movies and music I’d agree, it saves a lot of hassle! But for gaming? Only if you play a lot of steam games. Some people like the simplicity of iOS games, or the convenience of console games.

But if I actually start to think about what it means to pull a trigger, why would I play this entire game at all? It’s a terrible thing! In fact, it’s the very reason that I do not play violent shooters that have this kind of realism. I DO play games just for fun :) I personally don’t think games are a very good

It may work, but I don’t play games to be confronted with the true horror of terrorism... that being said, shooting anyone for whatever reason is terrible enough in itself (i.e. the entire game). I don’t see any reason to play these violent shooters at all any more.

Even worse, it’s super unclear HOW exactly to add your friends without googling it first. There’s this thing called Miiverse which is a total mess to navigate, I suppose the ‘add friend’ option has to be hidden in there somewhere... One beautiful day I might find it!

Also, there’s this thing called parental controls...
