Somewhere along the point where a deal was struck with Sony, somebody might not have read the small print? (Sony owns everything, Sony decides everything, Sony gets all the revenue).

Weird, I felt that way more about part 2 and 3 than about part 1... I think it has to do with the fact that by the time we get to part 2 and 3, Drake should KNOW that hunting treasure will involve killing hundreds of russians, and this in itself should be reason enough to just not do it.
Interesting comparison! In my mind part 1 is by far the strongest, because it’s the only game where you really believe that poor Nathan Drake is a bit clumsy and being forced into shooting guys while he really doesn’t want to. It makes him so much more sympathetic than the Drake in part 2 and 3: an almost psychopathic…
Nintendo: we need a female character. Hm let’s see how do we know an animal is female? Let’s make her pink and wear a huge pink ribbon! Variation is only for the male characters.
But WHEN !!!! I can’t keep refreshing all these shop pages for months...
Just a silly question: CAN you release this kind of material after the game has been released? I mean, I myself could upload a screen capture of Manchester United right now (well, if I owned PES). Would Man United come knocking at my door for royalties?
That being said, the school environment can make a HUGE difference if only teachers and principals would be better equipped to handle a building full of teens in one of the most difficult and uncertain periods of their lives.
I thought I could skip this game but NOOO you had to write this hilarious article....
It’s not that weird that Disney / Marvel / Apple (can) do nothing about this. Don’t forget that Copyright law is... a law.
Not sure if I’m less confused about Skylanders now...
“link” the two....
True, but still Mirror’s Edge appeals a lot more to me visually than generic 3D art that is used in most games. Of course it’s a matter of taste but I wouldn’t point at the lack of computing power as a reason that 3D games can’t be stylized. If anything, stylizing frees up a lot of computing power. For example, in a…
Yeah, but even then, it’s jarring to me that the cutscenes look so different from the main game.
I don’t see why 3D generated cutscenes are considered to be ‘less effort’ ? To me (personally) they look better than ‘hand drawn’ cutscenes in almost every way. In “Ni no kuni” the opening scenes were awesome (as you can expect from Ghibli) but it was also quite clear that the ending cutscenes were rushed. In 3D you…
I can’t believe technical barriers are what prevent 3D artists from applying more style to their games. We had great looking stylised 3D games on the dreamcast (jet grind radio). I think it has more to do with major publiishers rather not taking the risk that nobody likes their new style. Even Zelda The Wind Waker…
