It’s different levels for different people though. Like for me, I find weed helps a lot with the rote/repetitive stuff. So I smoke a lot when practicing, but I’ll usually be stone sober when I’m actually trying to brainstorm.

Exactly. Since it’s a podcast, it’s most interesting when they’re having a conversation and they’re trying to piece together what the hell they just saw from their own vague impressions. The live episodes feel like much more visual performances that the podcast is filtering into its worst components.
It feels to me like he typecast himself? I just watched Enlightened for the first time, and I saw the progression there. Season 1 Omar is just kind of a generic brown tech support guy with an accent. There’s not a lot of Omar in Season 2, but his big moments feel much more rooted in Mantzoukas’s comic persona that I’m…
I agree with your general point. However, I’d add that the qualities that make the live episodes kind of suck extends to the show in general more recently. It’s become a lot more “memey” and high on its own bullshit habits supply than actually discussing the movies. The live episodes just amp that up.
For the first time, an ad on the internet had something relevant to show me:
In fact, they often say a lot more since our reality free escapism is where our subconscious is most free to roam.
I got a Community notification for this?
Supporting Trump is worse, because supporting Hillary is meaningless at this point and nobody actually actively does that.
Though in this particular instance it was Politico/Morning Consult. It’s more Republican leaning than almost every other poll, but at least it’s not Rasmussen.
Me too - it’s like there’s an imaginary earthquake happening, or someone’s playing bass guitar loud enough to shake the floor. My guess is that a lot of those super low frequencies that we can’t hear we instead perceive through a combination of touch and sight. So the visual queues in the image prime us to feel some…
Well, that is literally Louis C.K. I don’t think more needs to be said.
Everybody else on the internet is sad about how disappointing it is that Twitters require some kind of human input. I’m just happy to see somebody, anybody, caring about Homestuck in 2017.
It wasn’t like he was trying to hide it. It was all information he put out there himself, it just wasn’t until yesterday that the dots fully connected. It isn’t like horse_ebooks where something that everyone thought was automated content was actually some dude doing comedy. Dril was always obviously some dude doing…
South Park doesn’t really do emotional moments that much, but that bit at the end where Heidi subtly parroted Cartman’s antisemitism in breaking up with Kyle was heartbreaking. I also really liked the moment where Heidi’s girlfriends are mocking what it’s like to kiss Cartman and you can tell exactly how Heidi feels…
So happy that Bubs dressed up as Grunkle Stan, since that reminded me also that Gravity Falls existed and the Matt Chapman worked on it. As much as people bitched about 2016 at the time, at least we still had Gravity Falls then.
Where does this article or the one it links to mention white supremacists or Trump?
Did you read the actual article that this is linked from? The main example they use is a woman who works as an escort on Second Life who explicitly went there for the erotic roleplay. This isn’t hysterical pearl clutching so much as a thoughtful analysis of issues of consent when you’re fucking in World of Warcraft.…
Wait, it’s not the real MsLangdonAlger?!?!? That’s sad, she was definitely in the top percentage of AVClub commenters who were more interesting to read than the writers. The comment seemed a bit trolly to me, but Community is/was a little overrated in this corner of the world and Dan Harmon is kind of a huge…
Dan Harmon has a redhead fetish, and thus so do Jeff in Community and both Rick and Morty. It was cute on Community because it would just be a random reference here and there. But at this point on Rick and Morty it’s seeming like a bit of a sick obsession.
