I'm only gleefully smug because the TKAM baby naming was getting OUT OF CONTROL. My friend is determined to name her future daughter Atticus, to my horror.

Well played, Harper Lee, trolling all these white ladies who name their kids Atticus, Harper, and Scout. I LOVE IT.

*googles “guy from Linkin Park”*
I agree 100% but I would still do that guy in those pics because he’s still a megababe.
I went over to my friend’s house for dinner once and there was a loaded revolver on the shelf next to the front door. I was all “whhhhaaaaaaaaaa da fuq.” And it freaked the shit out of another guest who did not grow up around guns. She was seriously uncomfortable.
This is why I got rid of my gun (i.e., gave it back to my dad who had given it to me). I took a concealed carry licensing course and was like “HOLY SHIT I am not qualified to have this gun and don’t want to put the time into it to become qualified.”
Boy am I thankful I don't give a shit about whether or not I have kids so I don't have to worry about this stuff.
My friend ordered the sheep’s head at the bus station in Reykjavik, and I literally made her sit at a separate table while she ate it. I eat meat, but I grew up vegetarian so I still have a hard time with meat that looks like animals, lol.
Admittedly I don’t know much about this case, but I thought she was challenging UT’s system of automatically accepting the top graduates at each public high school regardless of scores. Is that REALLY affirmative action?
I saw the news while checking my phone in bed, and I was up before 8 am, so I don't get it either. Shocking, I know, that not everyone lives in NYC.
I went from SV Kids to SV Twins to SV High to SV University. I was an addict. And my parents NEVER stopped harping on me to “broaden my horizons.”
ARE twins a genetic abnormality, though? Cellular abnormality, maybe, but genetic. My science days are long behind me, idk.
A doctor once told my cousin, after my cousin told him he had cystic fibrosis, “You don’t have cystic fibrosis, if you did you’d be dead.” (My cousin was there for a broken bone and mentioned he had cystic fibrosis to explain why he was on so many antibiotics.)
Sandy Hook was my personal turning point on guns. I don’t understand how it wasn’t everyone’s. So horrifying.
In some ways I can understand the need to tell yourself that only a very sick person would do something like this, but we have too many examples from history that prove these kind of crimes are the result of society, not mental illness. Nazi Germany and the 9/11 attacks are two HUGELY known examples of this.
It kind of blows my mind how many people think that IS all you have to do. I’m a white woman who has always lived in very white area, so I’m certainly no expert on race, but even I know YOU CAN’T JUST SELF-IDENTIFY AS ANOTHER RACE.
I live here now, and I actually do see quite a few people of color. Every day, I’d say. I’m sure white supremacists are still in the area but it is not put on public display like it was when the Aryan Nations were here.
I can summarize for you: residential fires and stabbings. I swear to God there is ALWAYS a fire or a stabbing in the news.
We drove the white supremacists out, thank you very much! (Well, the organized ones, anyway.)
