Oh, oh. No Tesla Model 3 for you, then.

Got our new 2016 manual Elantra for under $13,000.
Two of our three Hyundais are manual.
Two of our 3 Hyudais are manual.
At 1500 rpms on level ground & steady speed, our 2008 manual Accent is OK. Plus, there is great MPG at 1500rpm(50-55+MPG)! But at 1400 rpms, with a desire to slightly accelerate or ascend a shallow hill, ya have to shift down. Our 2013 auto Elantra dips under 1300 rpms on a level road & steady speed..... & holds its…
Oohh. A new car dealer in 2009 sold two Accents for $14,000..... & NOT just once. The deal ran for months. We’d just bought two cars within the last 2 years. Tried to find someone I knew to split the cost, who needed a small car, but couldn’t find anyone.
Even tho I drive the speed limit, Jeeps always tailgate me, to get me to move faster. Jeeps can’t get a third or half of my MPG OR stay away from repair shops...... a third or half as much as my Accent.
Maybe if it is electric.
Don’t know why Hondas are compared with Hyundai, whose retail prices are lower. Honda salespeople & dealers don’t deal, but Hyundai will chop prices readily off their retail. With the retail Accent prices mentioned here, even Elantras are gotten thousands less, with little problem.
Got bigger wheels & wider & taller tires to reduce Accent rpms on the highway. Accent corners way better & despite the big tires, our 131,000 mile Accent just had 6 gas tanks in a row over 42MPG AND 5 tanks in a row, over 45MPG. Expect Accent to go past 200,000 miles (maybe onto 300,000).

With our 2013 auto Elantra, I use cruise control often. Approaching hills, I shift to 5th(shallow) or 4th gear(steep). & adjust CC speed downward as I ascend. Only the very steepest hills need 3rd gear, & that at medium to low speeds.
The best looking sedan for 20 years was the 2011-16 Elantra series. The Accents & Sonatas were good, too. Other auto makers tried to copy, to no success. Always said if the 2011-16 Elantra looks ever changed, the new look would not be as good. Finally, Hyundai joined the other car makers. BBUUTTTT, we have two 2011-16 …
If I ever got a Mecum “70's” car, I’d like a retro-mod with modern big wheels treatment, lots of metal flake paint & ........ a five speed manual.
Hyundai switches from disks to drums to suit their economic needs. Our 2008 Accent has rear drums, altho 2007 Accents had disks all around. Our two 2013 & 2016 Hyundai Elantras have disks all around, but 2017 Elantras not.
