We call them Howlers.
We call them Howlers.
I’m still bemused by their humble brag/snooty attack on craft during the super bowl and subsequent ads since. To me that really indicated something fairly big. They are basically pointing at craft and saying “stop it, you’re annoying.” I feel just that simple acknowledgement, good or not, means something.
I feel like I just keep commenting on your articles (I do) but, I just designed a kölsch that was brewed at our production facility. Being released before the US Open in Tacoma. Can’t wait. Kölsch is a fantastic and largely under-serviced style.
Quite happy to do so! Yeah Firestone Walker makes really good beer; I really like their Pivo Pils. They beat us last year at GABF (when I worked at Marble) but this past year, we beat them. Muahahah. Seriously, find you some Marble Pilsner if you ever are in New Mexico. And their IPA. And their Red. Damn. Just go to…
Thank you! However, in my experience as a brewer thus far, the beers I have had in the Southwest of the US tend to be better than anything I have had up here; going 6 months strong. Not saying they’re not good, but, maybe give the Southwest a shot! Still home to my top 5 IPAs.
I work in a brewery. I’m a brewer. I wear thick rubber boots all damn day because waterproof. They are steel-toed, non-slip, absolutely DO NOT BREATHE, and I love them.
Wait who is debating whether rock climbing is a sport?!
Sadly the restaurant/brewery I brew for (yeah, I know) insists on bigger-than-usual pint glasses and frosted mugs. I can’t stand it. However, I do get to do LOTS of other cool shit, which is why I am casking a lot of beer now and having cask beer nights. WHO’S GOT THE WARM BEER NOW?!
As lists go, it’s better than being hit by a car.
This was on at work the other day, and I stopped (stunned) to look for a second. Dude rolls a strike, then pulls out a pick and picks his hair. It was perfect. I left, seeing nothing else could be done that could make my day any better.
Enjoy. Curious if you get some and then what you think. They don’t distribute outside of New Mexico, sadly.
My exact first reaction.
As a beer state, I do recommend New Mexico. I worked for Marble there for two years, but La Cumbre won the gold at GABF a few years back, and more great breweries are opening all the time. Plus, the state is great if you like anything outdoors related. Like drinking beer.
I would definitely second the gas, but be careful if you have any luxury brand vehicle as they don’t play nice with the additives and extra ethanol in the gas. I used to see cars all the time in my service drive with check engine lights from detonation and misfires. Top-tier gas only! However, if you’re like me and…
As a motocrosser, that transfer jump on that bike looks scary as hell. I’ll do arenacross and motocross jumps, sure, but having a gap like that WITH a truck? Wooooof.
It’s as if he has no regard for human life!
Yeah, that makes sense too. With that in mind, why wouldn’t more Midwesterners realize that given the mass presence of corn around us?
Well this is the only comment that really merits anything, really.
What is with the Midwesterners? I’m about as white as they come, from Indiana, and moved to New Mexico and still never really had any issues.
