Seeing The Matrix and then Crouching Tiger a little over a year later are cinematic memories I won’t ever forget. They were both awe-inspiring when they came out and the special effects they introduced promptly done to death.

This is reality in the new economy. People do depend on these gig jobs for income because they are struggling to find full-time jobs that pay living wages or provide benefits.

I went into the film pretty blind, I don’t remember it being marketed very heavily. It was such a simple film in many ways, but it really stuck with me. It’s definitely in my my top sci-fi list.

I reach a point where I just refer to certain sci-fi films as speculative fiction, Truman Show is one of those. 

Somehow I lived through the 90s without ever seeing Total Recall until a few months ago. DAMN, it was REALLY GOOD.

This is why I would say it’s the gesture. My mom got a diamond for her ring for their 20th anniversary and it was a symbol of how far they’d come and all they’d been through together.

What a great movie. I learned about it from a comment section when I was looking for some 80s scif-fi. 

I definitely recommend The One I Love to those who just watched Us.
