I watched the whole movie with my eyes closed, so I had difficulty understanding it too. Ha! I cannot wait for the weird Wicker Man-esque follow-up! It’s definitely more in my wheelhouse than Hereditary -- which was just pure horror for me, but what incredible performances!

Absolutely. It’s an obvious twist and I felt dumb that I didn’t get it immediately from the beginning; if you’re the type to try guessing twist endings it wouldn’t be difficult to figure out. I think the movie is scarier when you know from the beginning what happened. To me, it makes Lupita’s fear of the tethered more

Enjoy!

Just looking for any reason to downplay the success of a black director and black lead cast.

Agree. Shyamalan’s films largely depended on twists to make them interesting. Knowing the twist in Peele’s film only opens up more opportunities for analysis and it’s more interesting to pick out things you missed the first time around.

I will never be sick of it. You don’t have to watch it though.

Being able to guess the twist doesn’t mean the movie failed. Honestly, I think the film is scarier when you know the twist.

It’s a struggle for any genre film to be recognized by both audiences and critics. I don’t know why people are so ready to deny the success of this film.

Us was based on a Twilight Zone episode and Get Out certainly had a Twilight Zone feels as well. I am SO excited to see what he does with the show. I always have room for more speculative fiction in my life.

I see the expository monologues as a sign that he’s trying to toe the line between an artsy, highbrow genre film and a genre film for mainstream audiences. People whine about plot holes that don’t even need filling, so sometimes I think studios push directors and writers to fill them. I see so many well paced genre

I just started this season and watched up to the episode where he asks her out over breakfast! I’m both excited to see a relationship develop and sad that I’ll be watching, knowing it didn’t last.

I also think it’s dangerous to not make sure people know he’s licensed. I see a lot of fake life coaches, with no qualifications on TV all the time. I think people should know those certifications mean something and matter.

There is a lot of shock and over-praising when the family sees that the made over dude has cooked a damn meal and managed to pick out his own shirt.

Not just any potluck, a college potluck! And he’d never had instant ramen before! He clearly grew up with a silver spoon in his mouth. He’s cute as a button, but WHAT?!

I read that Karamo really wants his title changed on the show, because he is a licensed therapist! I think it is a bit disrespectful to not highlight his training.

I agree, I didn't need it.

Work emails aren’t the same as comments on a blog. It’s fucking rude to offer unsolicited proofreading, it makes you look like an asshole. I don’t need help identifying the difference between there, their, and they’re — thanks.

Its a fucking blog comment section. If you want to be an editor, go do that elsewhere. Like you didn't understand what was written? Stop bring a prick over one mistake in a damn internet comment. It's dumb. People are here to make conversation when they're bored. Get over yourself.

I. Don’t. Give. A. Fuck. It’s an internet comment section not a fucking college essay; like I don’t know the fucking difference in each spelling.
