parts of Catholic Jesus enough to put up with the eye-roll worthy misogyny.

I don’t know what it is, but in my family there is a generation gap. The elder Catholics are still largely pro-union Democrats. My cousins have become evangelicals who vote for Trump.

What a nightmare. I think has become a certain kind of company culture. I get freaked out by friends who require hugs every time they arrive and depart an event. Hugs are for people you haven’t seen or aren’t going to see for a long time, for best friends, immediate family, and partners.

Marvelous MM is charming and shiny like Gilmore Girls was, but with great 50s dresses. But, the whole season is more of the same, so if you aren’t charmed by it a few episodes in then it’s not getting any better. I have some complaints, the Sherman-Palladinos sure do love their Mary Sues. There is a scene where Midge

Could they have sued him for damages? Seems like buying back the rights at cost would mitigate any legal action from The Orchard, plus it would mean he’d be able to release it if there is an opportunity.

I don’t know why men feel they should get to escape repercussions for their actions just because they say the magic words when they’re called out. That’s not how it works.

Especially when men in the party keep asking women to make sacrifices as part of their political game. “You can’t have a litmus test for abortion rights and bodily autonomy! Do you want the GOP to win?” “You can’t have a litmus test expecting congressman to not assault and sexually harass women! Do you want the GOP to

“Ladies, if you want your contraception then you gotta expect to play a little grab ass. It’s just the way the real world works!”

Yes, why do these Dem men keep shooting our party in the foot by harassing and assaulting women? I guess we should start nominating more women and non-binary people because cis men can’t control themselves.

Um, but we still expect all of those people to be held accountable for their crimes. Franken should resign, Weinstein should be in jail. All should be held accountable.

And by all things to all people you mean we expect them to not harass, grope, or assault women? I feel like that should be a pretty low bar to set for candidates. The DNC pretends to care about women until a woman’s need for bodily autonomy because politically inconvenient.

Um. I’m still against supporting men who grope, harrass, or assault women regardless of their political party and I think they need to be held accountable. We can hold Franken accountable while also demanding the GOP hold their people accountable. Just because the GOP isn’t doing that doesn’t mean we should continue

Kentucky Dems are an interesting bunch. You have some real pro-union, environmentalist liberals. Then you have a lot of Democrats only in name. We used to be a blue state when it came to state politics, but as Dems have shifted more and more to the right (and after Obama was elected) they’ve lost a lot of power. Our

Throwing Janet Jackson under the bus was it for me.

They gave us more background on Davina’s character last season and set her afloat. There is a genuine narrative opportunity to center more of the main story around her, without doing away with all of the Pfeffermans.

The show dips it’s toe into surrealism often enough that I think they could play it beautifully without disrupting the story if they did decide to just replace Tambor.

I’m very surprised. I moved to Japan right before the movie released and it was such a huge sensation among my high school students and coworkers. The song from the film was constantly playing everywhere. I was really disappointed it didn’t get more recognition stateside. Beautiful film.

Yep, I’m watching Riverdale weekly in Japan on Netflix.

And he didn’t just call Heard a liar, he cast doubt on all of the accusations coming out. I likely won’t be watching this film.

Reading a book about a culture is not the same as growing up in that culture. So a white guy writing about Japanese culture doesn’t have the same authority as someone who is either Japanese or grew up in Japan.
