Carbon copy? Only in that she is the person fitting into the hero story, but I never heard her whining about power convertors.

We had a lot more Finn development than Rey development in the first film because the arc of the three films will be who Rey is and what her destiny is. The second film will likely have more character development for her.
It’s a Disney remake of a popular Disney film, they don’t need names.
Most of these mysteries just seem to me like marks of poor writing. As much as I love this show and the cast, the writing is weak and getting worse as time goes on.
God don’t even joke about it.
I’m a librarian and you should see the passionate debates that happen anytime someone brings up public library cats. People think it’s OK for allergic patrons to just go somewhere else; if there is only one library in town then fuck all, I guess. Allergic staff? Guess they should just deal with it or quit. I love cats…
I love so much of her work, while also cringing at her public persona, her silver spoon childhood, and white feminism. Everything you say is true.
I don’t think it was meant to be funny like, “Oh my God, can you believe it? What a riot?!” but funny like, “Isn’t it strange the weird shit we do as children and then never talk about.”
She didn’t put the rocks there, when she as a young child got curious and looked at her sister’s vagina she saw the rocks that her own baby sister put there and removed them.
These stories only make me realize I don’t love animals as much as other people love animals. I grew up with outside dogs in the countryside. All I did was put food in their bowl once a day, give them their worm medicine once a month, and take them to the vet once a year. They sometimes disappeared for a week, came…
That and business tops with sleeves that aren’t button ups. I can’t wear button ups becuase of my boobs, but I also can’t find professional looking shirts with sleeves. I just wear cardigans over everything even in the most brutal heat of summer.
It’s a problem for the woman who wasn’t allowed to do her job because of arbitrarily enforced rules.
But did he force them to leave?
In Japan the dress code changes in the summer to save money on cooling.
What were they allowed to do without any fuss? Go do their damn jobs? Look into some history of how women’s office wear developed and they were slowly allowed into the professional workforce? Trying to dress ourselves for work is a damn minefield. I wish I could just walk into a store and buy a simple suit and head…
I love those movies because I feel like they were so self aware without making fun of their teen girl fan base. No wonder the writer went on to do Jessica Jones. The cast was honestly great, I have no shame in my love for those movies.
No, I think women who are often left with no choice but to stay home with their children should never claim any marketable skills and linger in unemployment or underemployment forever.
When you have $150 in your drawer at open and a customer buys a black coffee at 6AM and the bank doesn’t open until 10 and you have to hope you don’t have to make any more change until the second shift comes in—that sucks.
I think for most people it’s not so much a mark of character as a necessity because they can’t afford childcare.
I know a lot of my friends realized that they wouldn’t be able to afford childcare or find a daycare with openings and had to leave their jobs to stay home with their kids. Some were on waitlists hoping a spot would open up in time and it never happened.
