Louisville is one of the most segregated cities in the country. So this bill will absolutely resegregate schools. You make a fair point, but the demographics of Louisville don’t compare to the rest of the state.

It’s a noble thought, but it’s not going to help those kids who live in poverty and go to schools in high-poverty neighborhoods. School resources are important, but they need a lot more help outside of school too.

Right now the bill is written that people should attend their closest school, however the number of school age kids changes every year. So each year the school boundary could change depending on how many kids have moved closer to the school.
