In the same way that white hat William was trying to play the “good guy” role to get the same kicks as bad guy William who raped and killed for fun. In both instances they’re selfish and acting out of self-interest.

So the “I’m just doing this for your own good” play?
This image shows why as much as I love the idea of penguin Santa, I just can’t get behind making people animals for the sake of avoiding diverse representation.
I went to public school in Kentucky. My science teachers apologized to us because they were “forced” to teach us about the big bang theory. I didn’t really learn about evolution. Instead, my biology teacher said there were three theories for life on earth: evolution, intelligent design, and aliens. End of lesson. Each…
Of course he’s not! He just says words and then never provides a plan to indicate that his words mean anything. And there is no one in government ready to hold him accountable because the GOP is selling their soul to him so they can have all the power!
You’re right, I think I remember reading that in Misandry Monthly!
What kills me is that these dudes don’t understand that women weren’t required to register for the draft because men wouldn’t allow them to fight in combat roles. That’s the only reason the debate is happening now, because military women had to fight for their right to work in official combat roles. Like, yeah, this…
I loved Shandi, last I heard she was a DJ in New York. Ugh, this video still upsets me! They were so young!
I think they know these will be challenged in court and they’re setting the ground work to get these anti choice laws to the upcoming Trump SCOTUS.
There was a lot in the Life and Death Brigade scenes that seemed ripped from other movies. The tango scene was straight out of Moulin Rouge. Logan making the picture frame with his hand as he says goodbye to Rory, straight from Elizabethtown. Both really cheesy, maybe not good movies that I inexplicably love and hate…
It seems like they had to address the fact that Rory would have other boyfriends in her life, but also couldn’t make them important enough to compete with the big three. Plus, I guess Rory is still bad at dating?
Yes! We are on the same page here! Rory figured her shit out after that break and realizing living in her grandparent’s pool house wasn’t a good longterm plan. Lorelai doesn’t have unconditional love for anyone, even the daughter she has a weird, codependent relationship with.
I know her parents did some pretty shitty things but they almost always came around and apologized. They thought they were doing what was best for their daughter and sometimes their pride won out. I wish at some point Lorelai could have realized that. She is truly terrible to her mother in the new season.
It’s not discussed but there is no way she could have bought that house without help. She can’t get a loan for anything and when she does ask for money for Chilton her parents say something to the effect of, “you only talk to us when you need money”.
So she says, but there is no way she could have afforded that house as a hotel manager, single parent, who eats out everyday. At the very least she had a trust fund, if she didn’t outright ask them for money. She acts like she did it all on her own, but she really didn’t.
And like her mother, she likes to believe that she earned everything. We all know Lorelai’s parents payed at least the downpayment on her house in Stars Hollow, right?
Kentucky sells hard liquor, wine, and beer. Which is odd since we have really weird liquor laws. Can’t buy wine or liquor in the grocery store (only beer), can pick up all three at the CVS.
School is one of the few safe places for young students to evaluate and experiment with their identity and ideals. This is enraging.
But in a state that has made abortion nearly inaccessible many women don’t have options.
I propose we have a national read-in of a Handmaid’s Tale.
