Maybe it’s dependent on the store? Aldi is starting to add more organic food. I think they also cycle products more quickly, so they don’t always have the same products. My go to—cranberry chicken salad. God, my husband and I could barely get home before eating it all and we lived less than a mile from the store. But,

That’s why I compare the two, although they are/were two separate companies owned by two different brothers. Aldis is run completely differently from Trader Joe’s.

I see what you are saying. But I also think the emphasis on smiling is a uniquely American thing. In other countries I find that customer service can be perfectly pleasant, without the need for fake smiling. For me, as long as I get what I need and its done correctly, then I don’t really mind if the person assisting

I’m Aldis all the way. The cashiers and staff are actually paid really well, they are naturally friendly without being overbearing, and now they accept credit cards!

There is a perfectly pleasant and helpful demeanor between outright hostility towards customers and the frightening overbearing joy of TJ employees. As someone who hates small talk and just wants to buy my groceries and escape, the forced chattiness of TJ employees (and Lush, for another example) can give me a full on

I love that show so much. It reminds me of so many families I knew growing up.

I follow up with a request for a cookbook that shows how the leftovers of each recipe can be used in the next recipe. Or uses the same base ingredients and produce for a week of meals. For those of us cooking for 1 or 2.

I want that mother! So long as it’s tv Roseanne and not Zionist Twitter Roseanne.

I love when part of her dinner prep becomes a quick lunch while she preps for the evening meal. One episode had me eating a regular lunch of baked chicken breasts with a bit of butter and rosemary shoved under the skin, baked with the chicken I then used in a soup.

Since I was a wee funk I’ve dreamed of being one her flower shop owning friends that she brings lunch to while picking up a bouquet for her dinner party.

She was on a recent episode of America’s Test Kitchen and talks about this and opening her grocery. I just love her voice and her fabulous life.

Also, if you don’t unpack your kitchen stuff quickly, you’ll be spending a small fortune on take-out.

I say this every move! I finally used some to at least move furniture, but man I need the money to just hire someone to do it all.

edit.

Otaku men in women’s clothes = a way for pervs to disguise their actions. This decision is actually for the safely of women.

There is a difference between respecting a culture and knowing that discrimination is bullshit.

I live in Japan and homosexuality isn’t really even acknowledged, let alone accepted. There are certainly sub cultures in larger cities but LGBTQ rights are basically nonexistent.

I can’t wait to read the memoirs his campaign staff writes in a few years

That question filled me with rage. Trump called Hillary the devil, called for her arrest, spent an hour gas lighting every woman in the US and now she has to say something nice about him!? Fuck that. She is made of sterner stuff than me, I would have thrown my mic and walked off stage.

I really, really like that you responded with citations.
